About Us

Diversely Human came about when I had an epiphany that I needed to have an outlet for the things in my life that I’m passionate about – Disability and Mental Health. It might seem like an unusual combination, but the two very commonly go hand in hand.

As up and down as life can be, I do always try and keep my sense of humour intact and to that end, I use a bit of humour and a bit of sarcasm to create my ranges. You know how they say you can either laugh or cry, well, I do both and there ain’t nothing wrong with that!

Disability

I’m a wife and Mum to three, and my eldest son has a disability (Down Syndrome). Since he was born, I became not just a Mum but a disability advocate as well. I have and will continue to raise awareness about disability whenever and where ever I can. It’s way past time for people understand and accept that ALL diversity is a beautiful thing. To look past labels and disabilities and focus on abilities. Disability and mental health are NOT topics to be tabooed by society. They must be embraced, talked about and in some cases, celebrated! I will advocate for my son and for all people with a disability always. I hope you will too.

Mental Health

#disabilitylife has its ups and downs (pun intended!) and one of the downs is that I battle PTSD, depression and anxiety. It’s okay to talk about mental health. It’s okay for people to know that you’re not coping. It’s okay to ask for help when you’re not coping. IT’S OKAY TO BE NOT OKAY. I want people to start conversations about mental health. To check in on their friends and loved ones and love them even more on their bad days.

Some of my coping mechanisms for all of this and life, in general, are humour, sarcasm, wine and a bit of swearing. Who am I kidding, a lot of swearing (just ask my family!) 😉

If social media is your thing, then jump on board. I’m on Facebook and Instagram, where I try and keep things real. If I’m having a shitty day, then I’m not going to pretend that life’s all rainbows and unicorns, but if it ever is rainbows and unicorns, I’ll be sure to let you know! 😉🌈🦄

I like to dabble with new designs quite often, so let me firstly thank you for dropping by and secondly, encourage you to visit me every now and then to see what’s new.

Happy shopping! 😍 and thanks for stopping by and supporting the small business changing big stigmas.
